We are a studio committed to learning. All instructors receive continuing and ongoing education to keep up with the latest in exercise science and body mechanics. We strive to pass this passion for both Pilates and learning onto our clients. Please scroll down to review each instructors background and experience.
Heather
Heather is the founder and owner of Lakeshore Pilates. She began teaching Pilates in 2000. Heather is trained and certified in TheMethod® Pilates through the PhysicalMind® Institute. She has completed their comprehensive mat and equipment training. Heather is also a nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (CPT) through the Pilates Method Alliance.
Heather holds a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and education with an emphasis in exercise science and is currently pursuing her master's of science degree in corrective exercise. She has completed further training in cardiac rehabilitation as an exercise specialist and holds additional certifications through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and through the Center for Women's Fitness as a Pre/Post Natal Pilates Specialist.
Heather has continuing education credits in Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Gait Analysis, Cumulative Trauma Disorders, Nutrition, PNF Stretching Techniques and Pre/Post Natal Fitness.
Bethany
Bethany is certified in mat work through the PhysicalMind Institute® and began teaching at the studio in 2004. She holds a bachelor's degree in health science and recently completed a certification in health coaching. Bethany is also a Certified Pre/Post Natal Pilates Specialist through the Center for Women's Fitness and is currently working toward her equipment certification.
Suzanne
Suzanne is a certified Pilates teacher through the PhycialMind Institute® completing their comprehensive mat and equipment training. She began teaching at the studio in 2004. In addition to her Pilates certification, Suzanne is also an ACE certified group fitness instructor and has a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in teaching english as a second language (TESOL).
Erin
Erin is trained and certified in mat through the PhysicalMind Institute®. Erin has dual bachelor degrees in Dance Performance/Choreagraphy and Psychology. In addition to teaching Pilates, she also is the head of Creative Dance at Turning Pointe and freelances her talents throughout the lakeshore area choreagraphing productions, performing or teaching dance.
Saxony
Saxony is the newest member of the Lakeshore Pilates team. She recently completed her full certification in both equipment and mat work through Pilates Evolution. Saxony has a bachelor’s degree in Health Communications with a minor in Public Relations and Advertising. In addition to Pilates training, she is a dance teacher at Caledonia Dance Center where she has been teaching and taking all styles of dance for many years.
Since each instructor has her own teaching style and focus, we recommend you take classes from multiple instructors.
