Although the matwork uses one's own body weight for resistance, a variety of props are used in all mat classes to provide support for or to challenge the body. Props include stability balls, rings, hand weights, small balls, foam rollers, resistance bands, stability discs and arc barrels.
Class sizes are small to ensure individualized attention and quality.
Mat 1 - An entry level mat class that incorporates the fundamentals along with modified mat and standing* Pilates exercises. This class is great for those new to Pilates or for those who want to fine tune form and technique.
Mat 2 - A more challenging mat class for those who have experienced the fundamentals and have a sound understanding of the principles of Pilates as practiced in Mat 1. This faster paced mat class will incorporate more challenging mat and standing* Pilates exercises.
Multi Level - This class is open to both the novice and more experienced Pilates student. The class will be tailored to the students in attendance and modifications will be given to students based upon either their level of experience and/or health conditions.
Pre/Postnatal Mat - This class is designed specifically for the pre and postnatal client and will help keep you strong without adding stress and strain on your body. Strengthening, stretching and stabilizing exercises are included, along with breathing and relaxation techniques. Prior Pilates experience is not required; however, we do require Physician approval. Lakeshore Pilates has two instructors who have received an advanced specialty certification in pre/post natal pilates and have first-hand experience in pregnancy, birthing and post partem rehabilitation with a combined 5 children between the two of them.
*Standing Pilates exercises bring traditional Pilates mat exercises upright and provide a new challenge to further improve balance and stability, and increase bone density.
Cardiolates® - A combination of cardio and mat Pilates utilizing a rebounder. The rebounder absorbs 87% of the shock to the joints while still being weight bearing. Mat Class Pricing - Prices are for the month of May. Cost listed below is the total cost for that day based upon how many days in the month. To take more than one day a week, please add the total amount for each day to obtain your grand total for the month.
